AhlulBayt News Agency: Egypt’s Awqaf Ministry has announced the launch of a nationwide summer program for children in mosques, focusing on Quran memorization and religious education.
Osama Raslan, the ministry’s spokesperson, stated that the initiative aims to enroll one million children across the country in Quran and Islamic studies courses throughout the summer.
He emphasized that this program will strengthen religious awareness among young learners and help them build a lasting connection with the Holy Quran.
Speaking to Egypt’s Nile News satellite channel, Raslan explained that the implementation of the summer Quran plan began on May 5 and will continue until September 30.
According to him, all mosques nationwide—around 22,000—will host the initiative, with sessions held every Monday and Wednesday after afternoon prayers.
The program includes religious lessons, Quranic memorization, explanations of Hadiths, and discussions on Quranic concepts. It also aims to instill moral and national values while encouraging compassion and love among children.
Raslan added that special programs conducted for children throughout the year concluded on May 1, paving the way for this extensive summer initiative.
